Names like Hofbräuhaus, Weltenburger Kloster and Bischofshof need no further introduction to most Europeans. They are at the absolute top of German brands and have been there for literally hundreds of years. If you are only used to drink "main-stream beer" you should do yourself a favour and try these and you will see why they are something different and the favorite of so many.

Hofbräu, created at the brewery in Munich, Germany is today probably the largest beer hall in the world, with room for thousands of people! It is so engrained in its traditions that the beers are still made according to the original specifications from 1589! And of course the original Hofbrau recipes follow the German Purity Law of 1906: that beers can be made of only four ingredients-malt, yeast, hops and water. Through centuries an outstanding beer!

Weltenburger Kloster - A Special Beer Treat for a 980 years
If surviving in the market for long time is an indicator of value, this beer has proven itself!
The first indicator for the existence of a brewery in Weltenburg Monastery can be found in the Weltenburg necrology, which states that "in 1035 the Master Brewer died". That should be safe enough for determining the age, and makes it the oldest brewery in the world.
A outstanding taste and richness. We don't know if the monks were even allowed to drink beer - but we are, and this is a great one.
